Totally agree. I used to work in an office like that. It was a converted 1800's factory building and visually it was beautiful: high ceilings, old exterior brick walls and interior glass walls with hardwood floors.
Then we went remote with Covid and my productivity skyrocketed. It was only then that I realized just how loud and creaky those floors were, and all the hard surfaces just reflected sounds around. It was a constantly noisy space and we had just all gotten used to it. In comparison, my house in the country was dead quiet and a much better working environment.
