Quit worrying about helping those that helped you in particular. If you have the opportunity and means to express gratitude, then go for it, but otherwise just pay it forward to the next person that comes along that you can help.

I've helped a number of people in what I think are pretty significant ways, and I've thought about what I'd say in response to them asking how they could repay me. All I'd say is, "pay it forward".

I've had plenty of incredible mentors help me without expecting anything in return. And thus, I shall do the same for those that I cross paths with for whom I can help. I suggest you do the same.
