Hey HN,

I built sec-alerts.com to solve a personal pain I had: I wanted to catch market-moving news as fast as possible, without spending hours reading through dense SEC filings.

For context: the SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) requires public companies and large investors to disclose major events — leadership changes, mergers, insider trades, fundraisings, activist campaigns, etc. — often through dense and messy documents.

My app uses AI to read these filings and extract what matters: • A one-line actionable headline • Estimated impact on the stock (-5 to +5) • Short summary + sector + thematic tag (like #M&A or #InsiderBuy)

It covers 8-K, 13D, 13G, Form 4, D, PX14A6G, 144, and more — each parsed into structured alerts in near real-time. No login, no fluff — just a dashboard of fresh, high-signal events.

It helps you spot things like: • Activists quietly accumulating a stake • Sudden insider sales • Fundraising rounds before they hit the news • Proxy fights, governance drama, and strategic reviews

I built it solo and I’m planning to commercialize it later (latency, paid tiers, API, dashboards), but it’s completely free for now. Would love feedback from investors, fintech folks, and anyone into market signals.
