We explored combining physical interaction (flipping a case) with minimal UI (potentially generative) to create context-aware interfaces for digital wellbeing, without needing new devices. Concept stage, building prototypes, sharing for feedback and use cases.
so - I annoy my cousins at times by flipping their phone cases just so they get confused when they pick their phone up.
Although I love the idea of a minimal UI, as someone with (a lot of) experience flipping phone cases, it just doesn't work. The cases are almost always built extremely intolerant of changes. When you flip them, the sides usually trigger either the volume or the power buttons because the spaces don't align. I've even had a Oneplus phone automatically go into recovery mode because of my shenanigans.
Upvoted regardless because I'd love a tolerant phone case for this application.
TLDR; interesting application of minimal displays - physically not convenient.
Feels a bit like an April Fools announcement to me, to be honest.
