I try my best to treat every violation as a serious incident. The only way I'd take a guard off is if I couldn't afford to get some other tool.

I just assume I will fail and forget many steps, and the only thing that might possibly give me a chance of not losing fingers, is following all rules and continually looking for ways to add even more margin.
